The Physiotherapy clinic is following all Covid 19 guidelines for safe practice.
Kate Janse van Rensburg, MSc, BSc(Hons), HCPC, MCSP, MAACP, FEA, CAUK
After qualifying with a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy from Sheffield Hallam University in 1998, I spent 12 years in the NHS, mostly in Gwent and Monmouthshire, predominantly specialising in complex musculoskeletal conditions. Wanting to gain further knowledge in this specialty in order to help patients as best as I could, I completed many post graduate courses including a Diploma from the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine and a Masters in Orthopaedic Medicine in 2007 from Middlesex University. This resulted in obtaining a Clinical Specialist role in orthopaedic clinics and a Team Lead position.
Alongside the NHS, I worked in private practice since 2003 both in South East Wales and Southern Africa where my family and I lived for 6 years.
I am passionate about evidence based practice having had research published in physiotherapy journals. I have found acupuncture to be an invaluable treatment for helping patients with pain and due to the success I found with this, I became interested in cosmetic acupuncture and qualified as a Facial Enhancement Acupuncture Practitioner.
I was thrilled to have the opportunity to start Acuphysio in the tranquil setting of Llancayo Court. The clinic opened in February 2020, certainly a challenging time to start a new business! The aim of the clinic is to be able to provide personalised, quality treatment for people in Usk and the surrounding areas.
